"Colour blocking"

It may have started on the fashion runways but has since become a great decorating option that is always in vogue.

Pair opposite colours together with no concern of matching or layer different tones of some of your favourite colours. It will work for both a bold or a subtle decoration styles.

Keep the floor or the walls white for balance and then start layering!

For an intense look mix clashing contrasting colours, combining unexpected tones like red and pink or teal and red, giving your home a truly vintage look.

For for a more discreet relaxing design, use single-shade items and add neutral tones to prevent the colours from overpowering the room.

If you don't want to colour block the all room you can try and incorporate it one cabinet, for example, colouring the interior of the shelves or the doors in alternating shades, painting your dining set chairs one colour and the table another or pairing a sofa with different coloured armchairs and decorating it with bright different coloured cushions.

Accessories will help bring everything together. Cushions, throws and rugs are always a good option.

More to follow, don't be a stranger.
